Many people in Justice who end up in drug rehab are dual diagnosis clients with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems. In fact, as many as 1/3 of those who struggle with mental health issues in Justice, Illinois also become involved in substance abuse at some point in their lives. These dual diagnosis clients frequently turn to drugs or alcohol to self medicate in an attempt to relieve the symptoms of an underlying psychiatric issue. Some addicts aren't even diagnosed with a psychological condition, and only when they begin to receive treatment at a drug rehab program is this sort of issue brought to light. This alone can help resolve addiction issues and put the person in a position to get rehabilitation for both conditions so that they have a good chance of remaining clean and sober and psychologically healthy in the future.
