Many people in Rew who find their way to drug rehab are dual diagnosis clients with co-occurring mental and substance abuse problems. Surprisingly, as many as 1/3 of those who suffer with mental health issues in Rew also become involved in substance abuse at some point in their lives. These dual diagnosis clients often turn to alcohol or drugs to self medicate in an attempt to alleviate the symptoms of an underlying psychiatric issue. Some addicted individuals aren't even diagnosed with a disorder, and only when they begin to receive treatment at a drug treatment center is this sort of issue uncovered. This in itself can sometimes help resolve addiction issues and put the individual in a position to receive rehabilitation for both disorders so that they have a good chance of remaining clean and sober and mentally stable in the future.
